Kingston Refurbishment

Our Kingston location celebrated its 5th birthday in 2009 and had a complete refurbishment in July. "We are delighted with the results and our guests have been very complimentary" said Operations Director Rob Reber. The restaurant now has a great new look including a new shop front that reflects Tony Roma's new corporate design that is being rolled out worldwide. In fact, Kingston was one of the first restaurants to be selected for the new look which also included new seating and tables, decorative re-design, new lighting and new signage.

Tony Roma’s, the International fast casual dining brand opened last week at The Centre, Livingston. The 200 seat restaurant was officially opened on Thursday by Lord Provost Tom Kerr of West Lothian, Ken Myres, President of Tony Roma’s US and Peter Sakal, Managing Director of Tony Roma’s UK. The restaurant at The Centre, Livingston is the fourth UK opening for the brand and the second in Scotland following the opening at Braehead x-scape near Glasgow in 2007. Its other UK locations are in Kingston upon Thames and Belfast.

Speaking about the Livingston opening, President Ken Myres, who flew in from Dallas for the opening said: “We’re really proud to be here in Livingston. It’s a great town and an outstanding shopping development. Our new restaurant is without doubt among the finest in our portfolio of 220 restaurants and we are really looking forward to serving the people of Scotland at our second Scottish restaurant”.

The 200 seat restaurant has undergone a £1M fit-out and UK Managing Director Peter Sakal is delighted with the results. “The restaurant looks fantastic. We are really pleased to be open in Livingston and have been made to feel very welcome indeed”.

And already the signs are encouraging for its Livingston location with sales over the first weekend returning a record for a new opening. “It could not have been better” says Peter Sakal. “There is no doubt that guests love our freshly cooked and varied menu. We prepare everything on site and our ribs in particular are proving to be a real hit in Livingston. “Our ribs have won awards all over the world. Trust me, if you’re a rib fan, you’re in for a real treat!”

Tony Roma’s Braehead opens … at last!
The waiting is finally over! Tony Roma’s new restaurant at Xscape Braehead in Scotland finally opened its doors to the public on Wednesday, 4th April, some 18 months after plans were first drawn up and 10 months later than scheduled. Tony Roma’s UK Managing Director, Peter Sakal, said, “We are delighted to have finally opened in Braehead after such a long time in planning. There were many issues which were outside of our control but which contributed to the lengthy delay in opening. We are delighted with the restaurant and we have had some very positive customer feedback. The restaurant started trading exceptionally well, and way, way above budget. It seems that the people of Scotland cannot get enough of our ribs!”

Trading has, indeed, been excellent in the early weeks at Tony Roma’s in Braehead, and on Bank Holiday Monday, 7th May, the new restaurant recorded a record number of guests served in a day for Tony Roma’s in the UK, with just over 700 meals being served. Peter Sakal added, “Tony Roma’s has been made to feel very welcome indeed in Scotland and we are delighted to have made the decision to open there.”

General Manager, Rob Reber, said, “We are constantly looking to improve the restaurant and always listening to what our guests tell us. We have had some very constructive ideas from our guests, which included re-upholstering the booth seats. We were able to do this quickly and without any disruption to our guests.”
